Development Plan Studio 2020 aimed at providing students an exposure to macro level planning with the help of different planning tools and methods. With the motive of preparing the development plan of Bharuch & Ankleshwar which are predominantly medium scale industrial cities located in an environmentally sensitive area, at first the existing situation was analysed. Before, planning for 635 sq.kms. of area, development plan and road network of similar industrial cities were analysed and 1 sq.km. area was planned. Based on key inferences from all the above, initial concept plan was prepared which went through various stages of boundary delineation, scenario building to arrive at the final development plan with proper transportation and zoning along with interventions into various sectors like environment, housing etc. For the implementation of the plan estimated costing, revenue generation and implementation mechanism was also chalked out followed by key reflections on the vision and learning from the studio while developing the plan.
