Compactness and Regulations

“Compactness and Regulations” Project by: Shaurya Anand There is a lot of literature on compact city yet in India there are very few cities that attempt to follow this model and also define what is compactness in Indian context. Through a series of exercises, the project attempts to find out the model that best suits the site conditions and fits the contextual parameters. The illustrations and quantifications attempt to understand the working of the compact city in Indian context and different related parameters and regulations of the city that may work differently or need a slight change - In the regulation itself or its implementation. Thus seeing a different interpretation of regulations and further-more helping in the formation of a compact neighborhood and city.
