The studio provided us with the opportunity to practically understand the systems and principles that are to be adopted for successful and profitable completion of the construction projects, from the contractor’s perspective. Three main disciplines for the course were- Execution, Monitor, and Controls which required observation, analysis, and application of the practices that are required to add value to the project in terms of Quality, Safety, and Cost management. We were also encouraged to adopt Lean Concepts such as Value Stream Mapping, Just-in-Time, 5S, and Foreman Delay Survey to streamline the process flow and minimize the wastes in the project.
