COMMERCIAL PROJECT

This studio focused on the execution phase of a project's life cycle and we were assigned a live commercial project to understand the various dynamics of construction, execution, monitoring, and control. The study involved taking observations, provide analysis for the same, and suggesting improvements wherever required in terms of Safety, Quality, legal compliances, Cost management, Contract management, and inventory management. Lean principles were introduced such as Value Stream Mapping, Just-in-Time, 5S, and Foreman Delay Survey to streamline the process flow and minimize the wastes in the project. The use of Building information modeling (BIM) was encouraged to track weekly progress.
