HVAC Lab is the second-semester studio work for the M.BEP program. This studio was mainly divided into two parts: measurement & experimentation and simulation lab. In the first part, students were exposed to standers like ASHRAE 62.1 and several instrument manuals. Experiments like tracer gas, PM concentration measurement were done to understand concepts like infiltration, particulate matter, etc., The first part of the semester ended with an energy recovery ventilation testing protocol. In the second part, HVAC simulation module was introduced. Multiple simulation related assignments were performed in DesignBuilder software to understand HVAC optimization and its importance.
