Gravity Sewer Network Design

This Final project deals with designing of the gravity sewer system for 42.62 Ha. bopal area in Ahmedabad. It also includes three types of cases for a better understanding of gravity sewer network design & also studies a cost-effective way of finding the pipe dia. , material & slope, and depth of excavation. In this project, the Gravity sewer network is designed with help of Manning’s Formula. Total no. manholes are 32. In this project the total Length of the Main-Sewer line is 482.25m & the total Length of the Sub-Main Sewer line is 1645m. For the selected area total Length of sewer line 2130.25m. For the 21864 projected population; the sewer pipe network is designed. The purpose of this project is to design a Gravity sewer network with minimum slope & Min. Pipe dia. For cost-effective for the design of gravity main various calculations are carried out. For that purpose, a program in excel is developed to obtain a desirable hydraulic gradient, pipe diameter for Max discharge Which is coming from the catchment area through the pipe & then in Manhole of the system.
