PLANNING $ DESIGN OF ROAD INFRASTRUCTURE IN HILLY REGION

The studio introduces the process of planning and design of road infrastructure in hilly region. This studio imparted the practical learning of surveys through site visits in Taranga hill. We came across different types of surveys and their respective outputs. We also learned to propose a new alignment for the same destination Taranga temple but connecting more obligatory points and proposing an effective alignment. In doing so, we learned about different code provision, geometric design, pavement design etc. We also carried out various tests on soil sample collected from Taranga hill which would contribute in proposing a new alignment.
