MAKING LIVING PLACES

Exploring the world around us as flowing, knotting lines, realizing the sympathies we share with things and places and discovering their living fabric is what this semester's work entailed.  This was done by making line drawings of things and places, working with clay to make bowls and tuning ourselves to the life that we live. In the final stages, a life depriving site was chosen and then transformed in sympathy with natural patterns and the living structure of the site itself. This determined the latent centers, water trails and the growth of a house that were enhanced or created.
