Freehand Drawing

S2

The first exercise in the programme trains the  students to draw freehand neatly and correctly. It  progresses from drawing parallel lines and exploring  the process of working with various pens and  pencils, to drawing basic geometric shapes and  3D geometric forms and performing additions and  subtractions with them, for better visualization. The exercise has a component that focuses on  experimenting with rendering techniques, making  use of different mediums and tools, leading up  to rendering a composition of solids and the  assemblage made for the previous stage of the  exercise. The students also learn basic lettering techniques.  The exercise sets the stage for all the upcoming  work by also introducing concerns with composing  sheets and drawings.
