Nostalgia and Architecture

The studio began by recalling feelings associated with specific locations. Sketches were used to depict emotions associated with certain areas. By creating solitude, intimacy, and congregation in a pit, an intuitive approach was used to further convey the character of the locations. It was based on intuition rather than analytical reasoning. The pit was later converted into a dwelling in Ahmedabad, with the essence of space based on emotions associated with an old recollection, leading to the construction of a new childhood home. The other part of the project now involved the creation of community space within the house. The institution area, which rose from the pit, was created for yoga and meditation. This yoga and meditation facility was created for the benefit of people’s physical and mental health.
