Intertwine | An Ecotone of Cultures

The site is located near the UNESCO heritage monument Sarkhej Roza. Sarkhej Roza is one of the oldest mosques in Ahmedabad city. The Muslim community's settlement was established on the peripheral areas around the Roza complex. Communities with different cultures and traditions dwell in the same area using the same parcel of land to celebrate their happiness together. The site is unacknowledged and disconnected to the community people and inviting for dumping garbage, parking and playground for children. The design focuses on the amalgamation of these communities through festivals, common gathering spaces and the acknowledgement of heritage structures and the revival of the lake.
