Knitting the open space fabric

The project aims to bring all age groups in the community together to socialise, to improve the community’s health and well-being while also improving the environment. Currently, the Bombay hotel community holds a lot of neglected open spaces where these open spaces are used as garbage dumping and industrial waste dumping areas. Especially, at site edges and lake edges which is the backyard of the community which is also one of the most used spaces in the community. One of the main attractions of this place is the water bodies and one such lake is Shodhan lake which is abandoned and invasive species of water hyacinth grow on it. The project deals in transforming these neglected open spaces and abandoned water bodies into an interactive and engaging public realm, allowing the community to grow and prosper.
