Landscape development of Shilaj Lake

Population and Urbanization is increasing day by day and it’s no surprise that Ahmedabad has sacrificed its ecology for development. Real estate projects, industry and state infrastructure have built over and choked the city’s ecology at various levels. Most channels and waterways that once connected the waterbodies have been built over and are spread with garbage blocking the streams to reach their destinations. Shilaj which once was fully filed with water has become dry and unusable for the people. Its catchment has been built over not allowing the water to reach the lake. The main aim of the project is to conserve the waterways which can bring water to the lake and allow the lake to rejuvenate with the ecology it used to have in the past and restoration of the lake to bring back the flora and fauna and act as a water collection for the entire year and supply water to the people during summer and dry season and which is sustainable.
