DISCOVERING BARRIERS

The mangrove ecosystem is home to a wide range of floral and faunal biodiversity that can only thrive in this condition. The system of mudflats, ridges, and back-swamps are interconnected with each other. This system works as a barrier, preventing the extinction of inland mangrove species and assisting in the prevention of coastal erosion. Various factors like barrages, sea-level rise, tidal variation, embankment, anthropogenic activities, etc led to the degradation of the mangrove forest. Starting with sketching and progressing to determining how the system is critical to the forest comes to a pause point where we can identify those systems.
