Expression of riparian zones

Evergreen, Moist deciduous teak forest (Southern western ghats, Konni reserve forest)
The project aims to identify the transitions of the riparian edge along the Achankovil river of the moist deciduous forest in the foothills of the southern western ghats. Investigation of the heterogeneous nature of the riparian edge led to the study of its site specific conditions and anthropogenic factors that adapts them, in spite of their similar ecological and hydrological function. This process led to tracing the river and studying the transitions from steep valley riparian edges to distinct layer of grassland edges in the flat bottomed valley.
