Through the thresholds

Southern mixed moist deciduous forest (Outspurs of northern western ghats, Sanjay Gandhi National Park)
An urban forest, in the city of Mumbai, playing different roles in the ecosystem. This study aims to understand these roles which become the thresholds in the forest. The dynamics which change due to factors like topography, hydrology, geomorphology etc. bring in change in the forest communities. Some characteristics get carried on, but some leave a trace in these many transitions.  Understanding the ecotones, the ecoclines and the mosaics which interweave and untangle throughout the forest becomes necessary to read the in-between.
