Natural continuous forest ranges of India have been fragmented due to anthropogenic activities. This project identifies one such linear stretch in the foothills of Shivalik’s that exists and connects wide ranging forests. These fragmented or linear passages of sequential habitats are critical as they act as a corridor between two different habitats. This connection of habitats forms a system which is interdependent on flora and fauna, in terms of species distribution and migration. Tracing the corridor has led to a discovery that corridors are linear patches of similar vegetation as surrounding forest which forms vital natural habitat linkages between larger forest patches. One would take pauses to experience the transition of different forest typologies of the ecologically rich Doon Valley.
