Playing Along the Edges

Contestation of public spaces is an emerging problem in Indian urbanity. Public spaces in the Indian context are designed considering people and vehicles. Designing public spaces with children of different ethnicities and socio-economic backgrounds can contribute to the social sustainability of Indian cities. The project focuses on designing the streets of Sola gaam with children to create a ‘safe space’ (or network of spaces) for the overall growth and development of children in the neighbourhood using the idea of ‘play’.Link for additional work
