India, as most countries, houses innumerable slums with little hope for development. Even when these slums are rehabilitated by the government, it changes their lifestyle as their workspaces are lost and not accounted for. The 13th compound, Dharavi deals with recycling Mumbai's plastic waste. The project proposes a system that integrates their work and living spaces in a healthy manner within the same ground area. The waste recycling process, here, has 4 different stages - washing, segregating, chipping and drying. Inspired from the Ghadames vernacular study, the project acquires a better living system for the people of 13th compound with interjunction of living, working and recreational activities.
