Flood Resilient Community Centre

The large depression area (through which these rivers flow) in times of heavy rain, has water spilling over from the narrow river -courses could impose serious flooding effects for some of the villages of Porbandar district identified as flood-vulnerable villages. During these times, the villages face a lack of public infrastructures such as schools, emergency shelters, or even basic amenities like clinics/hospitals as they are submerged underwater.  A Resilient and flexible structure to serve these remote Village communities and act as: 1) Public center for community gatherings 2) Flood Rescue Center The structure would be modular, as it can be used for both residential and commercial purposes. It is a structure, anchored to the site, that could sit on the ground and be resilient to survive flooded conditions, depending on the seasons. This resilient structure could act as a prototype for the villages to learn from and build their houses.
