Encircled - Exhibition Gallery

Exploring possibilities of using bamboo; partitions, openings and staircase was designed for an exhibition gallery keeping in mind the functionality and aesthetics of it. Final product: A display element was designed that could display joineries of the previously proposed joineries as well as the sheets.

What's Your material : Prototypes of joineries were made to understand the characteristics of the material.

On the basis of site analysis, concept was derived : Fragmented Yet United.

Display Element : Taking the concept of rings from the proposed staircase, display element was designed in a way, that it can be dismantled with lesser number of holes created in the material.

Documented Doors

Proposed Door : Studying the proportions of the door in Kanoria Gallery, the design was proposed using the similar proportions and characteristics.

Taking the proportions of the door further, the design was proposed using the similar proportions and characteristics.

Documented Staircase

The idea of the circular staircase was developed to create an envelope within, creating an outside space for a gathering, respecting the space outside Hutheesingh Gallery's entrance. The structure has circular binded bamboo strips, which explores a variety keeping in mind the structural stability and other properties of the bamboo. The mid landing curves are placed in a way that seems welcoming.
