Here comes the Sun I A bamboo and saresh Louvre system

The subject of study were teak wood louvres situated in a residential space as a partition between a living room and a utlity space. 'Here comes the Sun' is a louvre based partition system made from bamboo and saresh, metaphorising the classical jali in a nonmainstream material. The design takes advantage of the fact that hollow bamboo occurs in different sizes and aims to build a modular system out of slices of it. Saresh is a animal glue gelatinous substance which forms a brittle film on hardening and allows tinted light through, by virtue of its natural impurites.
