Rain Channeling Roofing System

Biomimetics is the study of the formation, structure, or function of biologically produced substances and materials  and biological mechanisms and processes (such as protein synthesis or photosynthesis) especially for the purpose of synthesizing similar products by artificial mechanisms which mimic natural ones.In this studio we first used the technique of material manipulation to achieve a doubly curved global geometry. The second exercise familiarized us with the concept of biomimetics and how to go about interpreting and working with the natural systems. The final exercise dealt with identifying a problematic site in Mumbai and solving it using natural systems.
