The house of Six Courtyards, extrapolates form the essence of the vernacular pol housing system and reinterprets it in the contemporary context. Courtyards become the defining feature of this design proposal as they look at addressing different feels and expressions of spaces within the context of the old city. The project evolved around the idea of alternating courtyards and living spaces sprawling into it. The process involved understating various adjacencies, interpersonal relationships and then proposing various iterations that address all the client requirements while retaining the essence of the fabric of the context.
