SAARTH - A HOUSE IN POL

A family is made up of connections and relationships, and so does house should reflect this relationships spacially. Aangan or courtyard is the heart of the house which pulsates and connects the whole house. This project follows this traditional featues from the pol houses, with the use of salvaged elements and a courtyard which connects and also opens up all the rooms and floor with one another. Interaction with the family and the community is facilitated through placement of rooms and otla. Further terraces and and balconies are provided as an escape for the family members. The entrance aangan, kitchen garden and upper floor terraces make sure that activities can sprwal and interact beyond the boundries of room.
