a D E T O U R : Celebrating progression to pause

A Detour celebrating progression to pause is a travellers home designed in Srilanka near Sigiriya. The site is located between a valley where one can see the view towards a waterfall from a certain angle. The Concept was to design a space that itself feels like verandah as it is one of the Sri Lankan qualities. And as a user one is always connected to the outside as the whole area is semi-open. The roof and staircase are derived from triangular and also from the diagonals of the site.
