The Crochet City

Unlike organic cities, Gandhinagar is a planned City and the city has created a buffer zone near the river to protect the river ecosystem. The patch of land and the road create a disconnection between the river and the City. The project envisions the city as a crochet of these wild, natural patches which exist around and within the city. The aim of the project is to weave the  flood plain and existing vegetation while proposing new programs and design that can integrate the landscape with the city, benefit its inhabitants and strengthen the river ecosystems.
