TRANSFORMING THE URBAN BARRIER

With globalization and urbanization, the demand for both housing and commerce rises especially in the urban areas. This also means the local urban governments are obligated to the responsibilities of catering to the basic needs of the inhabitants of the cities. This in turn increases the land value as well as demand for development. However, a large area of land in the city is being unable to undergo development and transformation due to limitations such as the railway as an urban barrier. ‘Transforming the Urban Barrier’ is an attempt to integrate such urban barrier into the city.
