The aim of the studio was to develop a housing project for a brownfield or greenfield site in the city of Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The brownfield site of Gujarat Housing Board Society located in Naranpura in the west zone of the city, was selected for the Public Housing Redevelopment Project. The land potential analysis, legal aspects of the site, macro market, micro market analysis and beneficiary needs were studied in detail for the project development. The project is proposed as per the needs of the existing residents of the society with adherence to applicable policy and the demand for real estate market trends. The redevelopment of public housing along with development of free sale component with mixed development, is a viable and implementable project proposal ensuring benefits to the beneficiaries, new buyers and profit to both developer as well as Gujarat Housing Board.
