Dual Plumbing System in Ahemedabad

As the city expands, the pressure for urbanisation increases, as does the demand for essential services. Another disturbing trend is water scarcity, which is being noted all around the world. Based on the primary difficulties revealed, the entire water sector in Ahmedabad was evaluated, and dual plumbing was chosen as a solution to address water scarcity issues. Even Ahmedabad is in a high-water-stress zone, with annual groundwater levels plummeting by more than 8 cm. As a result, water efficiency and demand management could help fulfil current and future fresh water demands. This effort intends to provide a long-term solution for lowering fresh water consumption. It comprises analysing if a dual piping system can be installed in existing structures. A literature review of dual plumbing practises and reuse law and legislation, stakeholder interaction to identify challenges, financial viability, and implementation recommendations are all part of the project.
