Sustainable Drainage Expansion and Conservation Program

Ahmedabad is expanding with rapid speed at the same time infrastructure as stormwater networks are not being expanded at the same speed which is creating a huge problem in this newly developed area. This project focuses on such a problem by providing 100% coverage of sustainable stormwater drainage network in the selected site which is east and Northeast zone through Conventional and Alternative Approaches. The main aim of this project is to reduce and reuse rainwater which is usually creating a problem for people. This would be achieved by increasing the stormwater network thereby reducing waterlogging and reviving the natural drainage system. One of the most important components of this project is to revive the natural drainage system which is been damaged due to urbanization. Along with this, the project also focuses on improving the efficiency of stormwater drainage networks by introducing modern age technologies like ICT, SCADA, and GIS tools for improving monitoring and enabling better governance in this sector. Finally, the project also focuses on financing through various alternatives.
