The purpose of the project is to improve Ahmadabad’s blue infrastructure through stormwater management. The plan is to divert stormwater into the identified potential lakes in a sustainable manner. Lakes are disappearing because of rapid urbanization, encroachment, and sedimentation, and land reclamation, at last diminishing the usual identity, quality, and catchment of the lake. The ultimate goal would be to understand, analyze, why this condition of water bodies? How does it take place? Who all are responsible? What measures are required to improve it? This can only be addressed & possibly solve through a comprehensive diagnosis of the situation to reach a desirable outcome, which is socially acceptable, financially viable, politically amenable, and environmentally sustainable.
