A Generic case of Mill Transformation

Today, the city Ahmedabad is a pioneering metropolis with well fabricated infrastructure and economic stability in the state of Gujarat. This shape was attained due to the successful trading setups which were established for a long time. The city was once termed as the “Manchester of India” for a reason, the successful textile mills have pushed the boundaries in city’s development. 
A Precinct of Tavdipura, an area enclosing the northern portion of Old Ahmedabad is analysed through multiple lenses for better comprehension of the changes experienced by the neighborhood through the evolution of time. Stark changes were experienced by the precinct in terms of land use, built use, demographics, street patterns, public realm, employment, etc. The consequences faced by the precinct are studied through analytical site survey interviews and complete background checks from books and internet.
