Socio-Economic Stratification of Ghodasar- Isanpur

Social stratification –a term that reflects the interplay between wealth, prestige and power. From the ancient times we have been observing, following and also studying that there are 4 Varnasbased on caste including Brahmins (good mind), Kshatriyas (warriors), Vaishyas(traders) and Shudras(the untouchables). Since then we have been divided and that tradition is still followed in the Hindu culture at most of the places. People have started forming communities where they have divided themselves either on the basis of same culture and tradition or on the basis of high-income groups, middle-income groups and lower-income groups. They have categorized people into several strata and this is how they have promoted socio –economic stratification. Hence, it has been carried from generation to generation, is universal but variable and it involves not only inequality but beliefs as well.
