EXPLORING ELEMENTS OF COMPACT CITY IN URBAN AREAS

Indian cities are characterized as low rise high-density clusters which is just one component that determines the compactness of urban areas. The compact city model is been a highly discussed method to make urban areas sustainable. The study through the lens of the precinct explores various components of compact city form and the relationship between various elements of the compact city to understand the present scenario of growth. Comparing other Indian cities we can conclude some of the key points that essentially need to be taken care of when we deal with incorporating compact city form in the context of urban areas in India.
