Globalization and municipal government reforms in Ahmedabad have reshaped the physical and social features of the city, generating contests between the rich and the disadvantaged. Vatva, for example, is an industrial area where people have migrated in pursuit of work as a result of industrialization. This portfolio addresses the consequences of the poor households of urban renewal and infrastructure projects and the process of displacement and resettlement in Vatva, Ahmedabad. The findings indicate that the urban poor is completely excluded from planning for infrastructure development, leading to a lack of understanding of their basic amenities and their state of living after resettlement. Resettlements and Rehabilitation of Vatva have been a part of Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM), they have focused on the integrated development of slums through the Basic Services for Urban Poor (BSUP) program. The portfolio aims to unfold the layers of Vatva, starting from the migration to the basic infrastructural development in the neighborhood. This study also helps us to understand the absence of basic walking infrastructure through the street networks and connectivity.
