INFORMAL URBANISM: LAL DORA URBAN VILLAGES IN DELHI

Informal Urbanism is development in the absence of planning. This project explores the dynamic informality and characteristic nature of 'lal dora' urban villages in Delhi. Through the lens of the Khirki Village in South-East Delhi, an attempt has been made to study the informalities both in settlements and economy and to study their inter linkages. The paradox of urban villages has been explored both in terms of urban-rural character as well as inclusivity and exclusivity.
