Rabari Colony : Work, Place and Folk

With Ahmedabad being one of the fastest growing cities in India, there is a rising need to study the city on a micro level. Several studies have been conducted on Ahmedabad as a city, but there is a gap in the research when neighborhood level studies are involved. This portfolio tries to bridge the gap by studying one neighborhood in the eastern Ahmedabad. It focuses on one neighborhood at a microscopic level and understand all its aspects that affect urban life. Some of the aspects chosen are the evolution and typology at a micro level. The area is predominantly industrial in nature. This will be useful to understand the city’s industrial nature which through the lens of the neighborhood.
