Reverberation of Industrial Estate: Vatva

The portfolio focuses on the socio-economic development of Ahmedabad's metropolitan urban fringes as a result of the regulated segregation of industries. Industries have been a significant driver of the city's economic development, attracting large numbers of migrant workers seeking employment. Within the study area, two periods of decentralization of industries and the consequent shift in housing typology are studied. To understand the image of the precinct as how the land markets function in Vatva, what are the key factors affecting the building typologies, the predominant land-use, and the job centers which are mainly constructed by the industrial influence in that area.
