Trends of Development in an Urban Fringe, Arbudanagar

The eastern urban fringe of Ahmedabad city has always borne the load of housing people coming from nearby rural areas as well as the people from central city who are forced to relocate due to the large-scale rapid land development in the center. This creates challenges of unplanned urbanization, informal housing, and the provision of basic services, particularly to low-income populations. Addressing these challenges demands the availability of public land, which is difficult in India’s privately owned land regime. Arbudanagar shows the trends of development which are driven by factors such as FSI, Land Price, Population Density and Infrastructure.
