Urban Evolution from Walled City to its Surrounding Area

Maninagar is planned as a residential neighborhood in the south eastern part of Ahmedabad as an Extension of the walled city to cater the rising population of the city. Further, the area was developed to cater to the needs of a growing population which include various transport and infrastructure projects. Depending on the demand of the population, the area was developed with varying building density, footprint and typology which is seen throughout the precinct. Evolution and shift in urban fabric and building typologies is seen over the past few years which also showcases the diversity in the way of living.
