Urban Peripheries in Flux : A case of Sola suburb

Cities are constantly in flux whether spatially or socially. Expansion of Ahmedabad began after industries started propping up resulting in city to grow. With decadal urban growth of 27.82 % city is now sprawling around its periphery which not only changes the spatial composition but impacts social life of people residing or choosing to reside in the area.  Sola is a resultant of such sprawls, residing in this neighbourhood increases residential as well as job choices also but it does not provide space for proper social interactions pushing people towards a declining quality of life and so tradeoffs are made.
