Mumbai, one of India's largest cities and financial hubs, is facing serious urban issues like grossly overburdened traffic, failing infrastructure, and an increasing cost of living. Worli and Lower Parel, one of the popular areas in Mumbai, was addressed through the Local Area Plan mechanism. The Local Area Plan comprises planning, project-based and policy-based proposals to achieve the vision to transform Worli and Lower Parel into a Well-Connected High-Intensity & Affordable neighbourhood through Transit-Oriented Development responding to the future development potential facilitated by Multimodal Integration.
