Surat's GDP is heavily influenced by the region's diamond industry. Surat-Kamrej Highway, which includes the Varachha flyover and Lambehanuman Road, connects the area to the rest of the city. Surat - Kamrej is served by BRTS, which provides regional public transportation, as well as a projected metro on Lambehanuman Road. Apart from that, the Surat railway station is set to be converted into a multi-modal transportation hub, which would offer a slew of new opportunities to the city.
