The Library Extention

This studio is focused on exploring the potential of steel, perhaps the most remarkable of these industrial materials invented in the later 19th century. We created a 25m x 25m library extension using architectural principles of space creating and steel construction. The space was created with the site's features in mind, as well as the benefits of steel as a building material. Its structural system is based on natural shapes and features an axial roof structural pattern that demonstrates the material's strength and flexibility.
