ENGINEERING SUSTAINABILITY: IMPACT OF DESIGN, MATERIALS

In this course, we learned about the fundamental technology and analytical approaches for constructing data-driven, resource-efficient buildings. The studio's fundamental objective was to investigate building thermal and luminous behavior as well as improve the performance of existing structures. The influence of light, ventilation and energy in shaping sustainable architecture was examined using computer-aided design tools and climate data. The studio's outcome was to design and analyze a compact dwelling unit in one of the selected locations while keeping the concept of energy efficiency in mind.
