Low Footprint Residence in Srinagar

In India domestic and commercial buildings account for a combined 32% of electricity consumed, which will increase as the resource intensive real estate sector continues to grow and the standard of living improves. However it also presents a great opportunity to reduce our electricity consumption by adopting climate-responsive & context specific designs and technologies to make buildings energy efficient. For my project I understood the climate of Srinagar, identified the key climatic issues and the time of the year when they persist. This climatic understanding, keen material selection & data driven design decisions were used to approach the design problem & propose a low-footprint efficient residence in Srinagar.
