Assessment of Drought in Kachchh using Spectral Indices

Drought is a recurrent phenomenon in states like Gujarat with extreme climatic conditions. Kachchh is chosen as the area of interest for detailed analysis after studying historical rainfall data from 1989-2018. Several parameters that are interlinked with drought occurrence are visualized and overlayed using GIS to understand the change in land area that falls under each drought severity category.
