Passive Comfort Lab | Tarjani Shah

The Studio introduced the foundations of Building Physics and Heat interactions with the Building Envelope. Initiated with the installation of weather Station, analysis of climate Parameters, Understanding Solar geometry and the impact of shadows, & Natural ventilation to grasp how the form adapts to the various Climate zones. Surveys were carried out to interpret and assess the aspects influencing thermal comfort. This theoretical Understanding was incorporated in designing an experimental volume integrating design strategies quantifying its thermal performance. The simulation module assisted in analyzing the passive and Active design strategies integrated into the model to optimize the energy consumption
