Research towards an Expository Essay

Through a series of guided readings, the exercise develops the ability to approach a text with a specific research question in mind. It involves working on techniques to identify and remember relevant aspects of a text, present them logically rather than chronologically to an audience not familiar with them. Towards the end of the exercise, it involves identifying pertinent materials, drawing connections between them and presenting them visually and orally, in the form of a description of an architect's work. 

While the exercise is restricted by the students' merely foundational familiarity with architectural language and concerns, the exercise is also an opportunity to explore these.
